Hull and Grimsby AST Project (Assured Shorthold Tenancy)

Hull and Grimsby’s AST projects offers temporary supported accommodation to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

The aim of the AST projects is to support individuals, families and couples who are unable to obtain a general needs tenancy due to arrears, ASB, or other support needs. Our support workers will work closely with the tenant(s) to address budgeting issues, previous arrears, neighbour complaints, substance misuse, health and wellbeing to name a few, and signpost for support in other areas. Tenants will be supported to move into their own independent accommodation and a move on plan will be put in place from the outset to work towards. Move on accommodation can be Housing Association, Local Authority or a private rented tenancy.

Tenants can report any repairs or maintenance issues/concerns via our website tenant area, contacting the office or support worker. Health & Safety/property inspections are conducted and tenants notified accordingly for access to the property. Tenants have access to an out of hours emergency repair support line.

Engagement with a support worker is a condition of occupying the accommodation and in the tenants best interests in order to move on to independent living successfully. Tenants will have weekly face to face contact with their designated support worker and a collaborative support plan put in place. This should equip tenants with the skills and knowledge required to enable them to sustain independent accommodation in the future. We provide a person-centred approach to support and work in a psychologically informed way.

All perspective tenants are required to be in receipt of Universal Credit or pension credit.
