View Current Roles

Maintenance

A career at Target Housing is not limited to housing and support work. We also have a large, dedicated maintenance department that helps ensure our properties remain safe, comfortable and well maintained for the people who live in them.

Our maintenance service is made up of three closely connected teams. The Admin Team speaks directly with tenants, arranges appointments and coordinates the repairs and maintenance work required across our properties.

The Void Team looks after empty properties, completing the work needed to make each one safe, welcoming and ready for its next tenant.

Our Day-to-Day Repairs Team carries out essential maintenance in occupied homes. The team includes skilled painters and decorators, plumbers, joiners and electricians who respond to a wide variety of repair needs.

Together, these teams play a vital role in the work of Target Housing. Behind every well-maintained home is a group of skilled and committed people helping to create a safe place for someone to live.

Volunteering

Volunteers are an essential part of what we do at Target. We welcome people from all walks of life who want to contribute — whether through direct support, mentoring, community outreach, or helping behind the scenes.

As a volunteer, you can play an important role in supporting people experiencing homelessness, mental health issues, trauma or other complex needs, and help them rebuild their lives with dignity and respect.

Our volunteering opportunities may involve befriending, peer support, assisting with tenancy-work, or supporting asylum and refugee services.

If you care about social justice, inclusion and making a real difference — while working alongside a compassionate, experienced team — volunteering with Target Housing provides a powerful way to give back.

Apprentices & Peer Mentoring

We believe in nurturing talent and giving people pathways to grow and develop. That’s why we are open to offering apprenticeship opportunities — supporting those who want to build a career in housing, property management, support work, administration or other key areas.

In addition, our peer-mentoring programme offers a unique way for people with lived experience — perhaps previous service users, or those who have overcome challenges similar to those of current tenants — to support others.

As a peer mentor, you can use your insight, empathy and life experience to help guide individuals through their journey by providing support, encouragement and understanding. This not only empowers tenants but also enriches our team and fosters a culture of empathy, respect and community.

Our Board

Our organisation is overseen by a dedicated and experienced Board of Trustees who — together with our senior management team and staff — ensure that Target Housing remains true to its values, mission and long-term vision.

From financial management and strategic planning to compliance, safeguarding and continuous improvement, our Board plays a vital role in shaping the way we work and ensuring we deliver the highest standards of housing and support.

By joining Target — whether as staff, volunteer, apprentice, peer-mentor or board member — you become part of a stable, principled organisation committed to making a real difference for vulnerable people across our communities.
