Weekly Foodbank Drop-In Supporting the Thorne Community

March 24, 2026

Local residents in Thorne are invited to access support and connect with their community at a weekly foodbank drop-in held at Thorne Rugby Club Centre.

Taking place every Thursday from 9:30am to 11:30am, the drop-in offers a welcoming and informal space where individuals can access food support, enjoy a warm drink and meet others in the local community.

The session is open to everyone, with no voucher required, helping to remove barriers and ensure support is accessible to those who need it. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own bags, and can enjoy free tea and toast while spending time in a friendly and supportive environment.

As part of the drop-in, Nicola, Community Links Coordinator from Target Housing, is available to provide advice and guidance on a range of issues. This includes support with housing concerns, debt, benefit checks and access to wider services.

By offering this support in a community setting, Target Housing is helping individuals access practical advice and early intervention, supporting people to address challenges before they escalate.

The weekly sessions also provide an important opportunity for people to build connections, reduce isolation and feel part of their local community.

Through initiatives like this, Target Housing continues to work alongside local partners to ensure people have access to the support, information and resources they need to improve their wellbeing and maintain stable living situations.
