When Conrad moved into our Hull LD service in 2023, he was beginning a new chapter. Living with Autism and ADHD, Conrad faced challenges with everyday tasks such as cooking, cleaning and managing his finances. He arrived with determination — and with the right support, his progress has been remarkable.
During his time at Hull LD, Conrad built the skills and confidence he needed to live more independently. He learned how to cook for himself and now prepares a range of meals, from lasagne to chicken curry, meatballs and even homemade pizza. His next personal goal is to master a full Sunday dinner — and he’s well on his way.
Conrad’s growth hasn’t stopped in the kitchen. With support from the team, he has developed routines, learned to maintain his home, and managed his finances responsibly. He has now moved into his own property, taking another huge step towards a fully independent life.
One achievement Conrad is especially proud of is becoming a responsible dog owner. After adopting his dog, he attended training and obedience classes through the local RSPCA to ensure he was giving his new companion the best care possible. He is also working towards another milestone: learning to drive.
Conrad’s journey is a testament to resilience, support and the power of believing in yourself. We’re incredibly proud of how far he has come — and excited to see what he achieves next.
