Georgia Lax – South Yorkshire AST Service Manager

Georgia’s journey at Target Housing is a great example of how quickly a career can develop when opportunities, training and supportive management come together.

Georgia joined Target Housing almost two years ago as a Domestic Abuse Tenancy Support Worker. Since then, she has progressed to become Team Leader for services across Doncaster and Rotherham and is now Service Manager for the South Yorkshire AST project.

Her progression was not something she had necessarily planned from the beginning. As Georgia learned more about Target Housing, she discovered that the organisation was much larger than she had first realised, with a wide range of services, roles and opportunities for colleagues who want to develop.

By taking on new responsibilities and making the most of the opportunities available, Georgia has been able to build her experience, strengthen her leadership skills and progress into a senior management position.

Support has played an important part throughout her journey. Georgia credits Target Housing’s supportive management and training opportunities with helping her take each step forward and giving her the tools she needed to grow within the organisation.

Her story demonstrates that a role at Target Housing can be the beginning of a rewarding and continually developing career. Since April 2023, 21 Target Housing colleagues have progressed into more senior roles, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to recognising potential and supporting its people.
