Target Housing is proud to have retained the Investors in Diversity Foundational Award, recognising the organisation’s continued commitment to fairness, respect, equality, diversity, inclusion and engagement.
The award, delivered by the National Centre for Diversity, independently reviews an organisation’s equality, diversity and inclusion policies, the ways these policies are embedded across the workplace, and the training provided to colleagues.
As part of the assessment, the National Centre for Diversity reviewed Target Housing’s online application and supporting evidence. It also analysed feedback collected through an independent cultural audit completed by members of staff.
The review found that Target Housing continues to demonstrate many areas of good practice in relation to equality, diversity and inclusion.
Strong policies and processes
The assessment recognised that Target Housing has a wide range of relevant policies covering different areas of equality, diversity and inclusion.
It also found that a number of these policies go beyond minimum legal requirements, demonstrating the organisation’s commitment to maintaining an inclusive and supportive workplace culture.
Target Housing uses a variety of methods to help embed these policies and processes throughout the organisation.
The staff survey found that:
FREDIE represents Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement — the six principles that underpin the National Centre for Diversity’s approach.
The National Centre for Diversity concluded that Target Housing has a good understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion, supported by a firm foundation of policies and processes on which the organisation can continue to build.
Continuing our EDI journey
Retaining the award provides valuable independent recognition of the progress Target Housing has made. It also gives the organisation an opportunity to reflect on feedback, identify areas for further development and continue strengthening its culture.
Target Housing remains committed to creating an environment in which colleagues feel respected, supported and able to contribute, regardless of their identity, background or circumstances.
We would like to thank everyone who took part in the assessment and staff survey. Their honest feedback will help shape the next steps in Target Housing’s continuing equality, diversity and inclusion journey.
