Art students exhibition

August 2, 2017

With generous funding from the arts council Target have been working with women in Rotherham, delivering weekly ceramics classes by a qualified ceramics teacher. Over the last year those attending have developed their skills each week and have produced some outstanding work which is being shown on display at Riverside House Council building from the 1st August until the 31st. The art will be on display throughout the library areas of the ground floor for all to view. The women have created some amazing pieces and we encourage all to go down and have a look at the work they have been producing!

The classes which have been running for a year within RISE, have inspired many to pursue their creative side and keep up with pottery;

“The session is warm and welcoming and relaxing session.  I love attending the classes it has brought out my creative skills and I am considering continuing with pottery if the session was to end, although I truly hope it doesn’t as my Tuesdays won’t quite be the same.  The class has taught me all the basics in pottery.  Caroline is a wonderful tutor, caring and extremely helpful.  I have made a fruit bowl, a night light for my daughter and a Venetian mask.  The session is such a great idea; I therefore hope it is further funded to run again.”
