Housing Support Worker

A vacancy for a Housing Support Worker has arisen at Target Housing. The post holder will be based in our Sheffield office (but could be asked to work from one of our other South Yorkshire offices).

The post holder will be working within an accommodation based project with support services for vulnerable adults, particularly those individuals of an offending background and complex needs.

The Housing Support Worker will provide high quality housing management and support services to clients in order to assist them in sustaining their tenancies, achieving their potential and working towards a crime free lifestyle and independent living.

The post holder will be expected to travel locally on a regular basis. Therefore, a full driver’s licence and access to a vehicle is required. This is a permanent position based on 39 hours per week, working Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am to 6pm and occasional Saturdays on a rota system.

We offer a salary of £18,025 (pro rata) progressing to £18,540 (pro rata) on satisfactory completion of a probationary period assessment. Salary increases are 19,570 +1 year and onto £20,600 +2 years. Other benefits include membership of the Westfield healthcare scheme; 28 days annual leave (pro rata) plus statutory bank holidays. Offer of employment is subject to a satisfactory criminal records check and references.

Housing Support Workers- Doncaster

2x F/T (37hrs)

A vacancy for a housing support worker has arisen in our busy Doncaster project based at 2 South Parade, DN1 2DY.

The primary client group is offenders, ex-offenders and those at risk of offending and, as such, they often have multiple and complex needs. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working with vulnerable and marginalised groups in a community based project using a support planning approach. A working knowledge of the benefits and housing system would be beneficial.

We offer a salary of £18,025 (pro rata) progressing to £18,540 (pro rata) on satisfactory completion of a probationary period assessment. EU Tenancy Support Worker-  Hull

A vacancy has arisen for an EU Tenancy Support Worker.

The project will be run by Target Housing by a 3 year funding from the Big Lottery’s Reaching Communities fund. It will be based at 55 Charles Street, Hull, within an established project which works with homeless people and asylum seekers.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the issues affecting new EU migrant communities, basic knowledge of the welfare benefits system, an understanding of risk assessments and support planning and knowledge of housing law and mediation approaches.

The aim of the project is to improve landlords’ and tenants’ knowledge of their rights and responsibilities in order to improve housing conditions and promote best practice in housing management. To this end the postholders will work with tenants to develop realistic support plans, carry out regular risk assessments and work with landlords and tenants to promote positive outcomes where disputes arise.

This is a temporary post until October 2019

A full UK Driver’s Licence is required and daily use of your own vehicle is essential.  All posts are full-time based on 39 hours per week. Hours of work are flexible to accommodate the needs of the business and its clients. Offer of employment is subject to a satisfactory criminal records check and references. The salary for this position is £17,000.

Volunteer Trustee

Are you a problem solver with an ability to think creatively?  If you are looking for a new challenge and are committed to helping vulnerable people move on in their lives, we’d like to hear from you.

Target Housing is an independent charity providing housing and support to people battling with debt, mental health problems, drugs and alcohol dependency. Many are asylum seekers or have an offending background.

We are looking to refresh our board with experienced, enthusiastic team players looking to share their talents and gain experience at Board level working alongside a diverse range of professionals in a supportive, fast changing environment. We welcome applicants from all sections of the community.

Our trustees attend around 8 meetings a year 4pm till 6pm, in Rotherham, Sheffield City-Centre and occasional half day planning meetings. Travel and parking costs are reimbursed.
