Hull EU Migrants Project
Hull EU project is funded by the Big Lottery for three years. It offers free outreach support to individuals and families living in Hull who originate from countries in the European Union.
Anyone can refer citizens from the EU to Target Housing for support ranging from a one-off issue to ongoing support for a period of up to six months.
Families and individuals referred to us have usually come to the UK to looking for work and are in unsuitable housing or have issues with landlords. They may have problems accessing eligible benefits, opening bank accounts, understanding paperwork or registering with schools, doctors and dentists.
We provide help in their homes or accompany them to appointments with the council, agencies, banks, schools etc. Visits and appointments happen as progress is made in each support area.
We work with service users to assess their needs, develop a support plan and help them find suitable properties through private landlords or the local authority. We help them to set up all utilities at the new property and address other issues such as relocating children to new schools, registering with children’s centres and primary care services.
Target helps people find quality properties in which to bring up their families whilst providing them with support to both deal with debt and maximise their income to ensure the tenancy is maintained. We also help them to better integrate into English culture and become a better citizen.
