‘A Place to Call Home’ Showcase Event

On the 18th October at the Theatre Deli in Sheffield, a partnership of Sheffield commissioned services including Target and others such as Shelter, Roundabout, Salvation Army, Crisis, Adullam Homes etc. organised a Showcase event called ‘A Place to Call Home’. This event was created for Sheffield City Council members and Commissioners to showcase the amazing work that commissioned services across Sheffield are doing. The day consisted of organsation’s stalls and a chance to network, then we had the chance to watch a video created with service users, sharing their experiences. Next, it was time for Shelters Tracey Nathan to give a speech, then it was onto very moving speeches from service users. Sheffield MP Clive Betts informed the audiences from a government perspective and then it was time for a panel made up of individuals from organisations, Clive Betts and services to take questions. The event ended with an amazing poem written and read by a service user and lastly there was time for more networking.

The event has also been recognised in the local Sheffield news, check it out here;
