Target’s students outstanding art work is now on display throughout the library areas of the Riverside House Building in the centre of Rotherham from the 1st August until the 31st August for all who would like to view the amazing work the students have been producing.
Target Housing attended and supported the annual Eastwood Fun Festival in Rotherham this year. The event which took place on the 20th May 2017 adopted a ‘by the sea’ theme complete with all the fun activities you would find at the seaside! The event was a huge success and Target are looking forward to the next Eastwood Fun Festival next year!
In support of Refugee Week, Target has attended and participated in events in Rotherham and in Hull. The events focused on the celebration of refugee and all the positive contributions they bring. Both events were a huge success.
Target are working with a number of organisations to deliver a range of support services in Rotherham. Services include, advocacy, advice and guidance drop ins for asylum seeker and refugee support, as well as conversation clubs which people can access for support.
Target Housing took part in the Rotherham Food Festival on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st May 2017. The event was a huge success with Target providing a stall, to inform Rotherham locals about the work Target does and the services it provides. As well as Target staff delivering a Yorkshire Pudding and Herby Vegetable Stew tutorial!
Staff from Targets Doncaster office are leading the fight against dementia by taking part in the Snowden Midnight challenge on the 23rd June 2017 to raise money for the Alzheimer’s society.
Linsay Hurst, Kate Hine and Katie Gismondi completed the three peaks challenge last year and raised over £1500 and are hoping they can smash last years amazing efforts!

Offender Manager in Sheffield last week outlining the great work that TASC staff carry out on a daily basis.

Target Housing have been delivering music therapy, supported by Mama Africa Rotherham. The project began at the beginning of March for our service users in Rotherham. Individuals are given the opportunity to play drums, guitar and other instruments as a form of relaxation, as well as teaching them a new skill and giving them something productive to do with their time. This therapy can help with mental ill health, reducing isolation and combating boredom.
Target Housing have been supporting Mama Africa Rotherham (funded by the Rotherham Borough Council devolved budget) to deliver a project for young people in Rotherham for the past 3 months.
Young people have been attending to learn new skills and meet new people by taking part in activities such as cooking, dancing, music and games. The project also listened to the needs of the young people and catered to what they wanted to do.
Target Housing, Rotherham Council and St Martin in the Fields Launch New Scheme – Housing Becomes Homes
Local charity, Target Housing, Rotherham Council’s Homeless team and national charity: St Martin-in-the-Fields, have formed a partnership to equip tenants homes as they begin to rebuild their lives, following homelessness.
The scheme, which aims to help transform their bricks and mortar properties into homes, offers tenants free furniture and white goods, sourced from reputable suppliers.
