Target launches EU migrant housing advice service in Hull

Target Housing has been awarded £403,000 by the Big Lottery to develop a housing mediation and advice service for EU migrants in Hull.

Target, a registered charity which provides social housing and support to vulnerable people, will work with the statutory and voluntary sectors  to ensure that properties occupied by EU migrants are safe and comply with current legislation. It will also help to improve migrants’ understanding of their legal rights and responsibilities as tenants.

Target in New Drive to Reduce Homelessness

Target has been selected as a regional partner in a new national initiative to tackle homelessness.

The charity was chosen by the St Martin-in-the-Fields as one of 14 partners which will identify and share successful action to combat the root causes of homelessness.

The project will be led by Target CEO Shaun Needham and partnership officer Beki Tomlinson. It will operate across South Yorkshire and Hull. Local gatherings and events organised by Target will be announced shortly.

Target Celebrates National Diversity Award

Target Housing has retained its Investors in Diversity standard for the third year running.

The annual accreditation, awarded by the National Centre for Diversity, is based on an online survey of stakeholders, partners and staff. Around two thirds of permanent staff took part in the survey and Target scored highly on every strand. The charity has been in existence for more than 25 years and works with vulnerable people in South Yorkshire, Humberside and the North Midlands.
